Green Team 2016-2017

Eco Schools

We were delighted to achieve our fifth green flag on the theme of Biodiversity last year.  It was as a result of very hard work by the children and staff.

We have a busy year ahead of us!  We have a lot of work to do to maintain our five previous themes which were:

  1. Litter and Waste
  2. Energy
  3. Water
  4. Travel
  5. Biodiversity

Along with that we are very excited to be working towards our sixth flag on Global Citizenship– Litter and Waste.  We are so lucky in our school to have pupils from many parts of the world so this will be a very exciting theme for us. We have lots of work to do in the coming months so keep your eyes peeled for updates!

The Green Team

Walk On Wednesday

On Wednesday the 29th of March the green team relaunched Walk on Wednesday (W.O.W.).  For Walk On Wednesday we try to get as many students as possible to use less cars by walking, getting a bus, parking ‘n’ striding, scooting, car-pooling or cycling to school.

Every Wednesday morning (unless the weather is really bad!), the green team will be standing at the front gate of our school giving out stickers to those who participate.

There will be spot prizes given out to children who make a big effort on Wednesdays!

27th March, 2017

As part of our efforts to get our sixth green flag we are re-launching Walk On Wednesday this week! Hopefully the sunny weather will continue and many people will be able to take part!

We are asking that everyone makes an effort to either:

  • Walk to school
  • Park and Stride
  • Cycle to school
  • Get the bus to school
  • Car pool (people sharing a car with others coming to school)

The green team will be handing out some stickers and prizes on the day! So let’s all make a big effort to help the environment this Wednesday!!
