3rd Class: 22nd June 2020

Hello to all the boys and girls in 3rd class!

We hope that you are all doing well and looking forward to your Summer holidays, finally! We hope you all got to see the fabulous Music Generation Video ‘ Schools out for Summer’ on our website and well done to all those who sent in videos!

This is our last week of work on the school website. We have a real treat for you this week as we are challenging you to take part in our Virtual Sports Day! All the Third class teachers have videoed themselves doing an activity and they are challenging you to try to beat their score! We would love to get a photo or video of you doing some of the activities! There will be a prize for the best photo or video that is sent back from each of the 5 Third classes.

Sadly, we have only reached chapter 23 in the Ickabog . But you can continue on reading the story on https://www.theickabog.com/ Have a look at the super illustration competition that is running on this webpage. You might like to take part.

I’m sure that you all can’t wait to find out who your new teacher for Fourth Class will be.… so here it goes!!

A final message from us…

We would like to say a big “Thank You” to you and your families for working so hard over the last three and a half months. It’s been difficult for everyone and we are so proud of everyone!! Parents/guardians did a fantastic job at home and your support meant everything to us as teachers. We have really missed the children and we all look forward to getting back into school in September. Until then , enjoy the Summer Holidays!!!

As usual you can send your photos, videos and work back to us on thirdclasswork@scoil-bhride.com We will be available for feedback and correction until June 30th.

Stay safe and keep well!

Virtual Sports Day

This week we have included lots of fun activities so you can have your own Virtual Sports Day at home. You won’t need any fancy equipment. You can use things you have at home.

We have divided the challenges up into two sections. The first section is fun video challenges, the second section is the teacher challenge. We think you will really enjoy this part!! 🙂

Part 1 = Fun Challenges

Here are some fun video challenges for you to watch and try out at home. The last one is quite the challenge! We would love to see pictures or videos of you attempting these activities – Enjoy!!

Part 2 = Teacher Challenges

Now, for the part you will really enjoy! Each of the 3rd class teachers have made a video challenge and it’s now up to you to beat the teachers!! Send us your videos of you beating the challenges set by the teacher. How many can you beat? Can you beat them all??? 🙂

Virtual Tour

Unfortunately, we can’t go on our school tour this year, but we will get to go to Redhills Adventure Centre next year instead! This year, we are going on a virtual tour of Áras an Uachtaráin where our President Michael D. Higgins lives. It is right beside Dublin Zoo!

You can look around his amazing house by following the arrows. There are four great guides. Daithí Deer tells us about Phoenix Park. Fiachra Fox tells us about the Áras. Sorcha Squirrel tells us about the work of the Irish President and Bláithín Bird tells us more about the President. Click on their pictures. Fill in the worksheet when you have finished the tour.

Here is the worksheet for you to complete.

We would love you to look back on your time spent in 3rd class this year and write about it in the template below or in your copy. Don’t forget to send us your memories.
