5th Class X-Factor!
On Friday 25th October in the school hall our five 5th classes competed in a thrilling X-factor competition.
Each class chose their own song or medley of songs to sing and worked really hard practising in order to perfect their performances for the day!
All the 1st and 4th classes, along with their teachers, came to watch the acts and there was a huge audience for the brave 5th classes to try and impress!
Our fantastic judges were Mrs. Wall Coughlan, Mrs. Lynam, Mr. Meade and Ms. Cushen. The judges gave some great feedback after each performance and they definitely had a very difficult job picking the winners!
Ms. Ozenbrook’s class fearlessly went 1st and performed a medley of songs including ‘Price Tag’, ‘LaLaLa’ and ‘The Fox Song.’ They sang with attitude, had great dance moves and some beautiful solo singing also.
Next up was Ms. Nolan’s class who sang a great rendition of ‘Thriller’ incorporating Halloween! They also sang Bastille and delighted the judges singing ‘Wake me up’ as Gaeilge! Bhí sé sin an-mhaith ar fad!
Thirdly, Ms. Hayes’ class took to the stage and had the audience instantly captivated with their lively dancing to their songs ‘cruisin for a bruisin’. Again, there was some fantastic solo performances including tin whistle during ‘wake me up’ and they ended with a great version of the popular song ‘Hey-Ho’.
Then Ms. Dalton’s class stepped up and sang ‘Roar’. Nearly every child in the class sang a line on their own which was excellent and a scary thing to do! The judges and audience were delighted as they are big Katy Perry fans!
Finally, Mr. Monaghan’s class performed and they started off sitting on the floor with cups and the audience were enthralled from the start! The children sang the cup song, all the while keeping a rhythm in sync with their cups. It looked so difficult and a lot of practise went into it!
No-one envied the judges’ job as every single class’ hard work was evident and all did brilliant performances!
Mrs. Wall Coughlan delivered the results and Ms. Ozenbrook’s class were thrilled to be announced the winners!
An exciting song-filled morning was had by all and the 5th class teachers would like to thank everyone for coming to watch and a special thanks to our 4 wonderful judges!
