Scoil Bhríde / Matandani School Fundraiser

This summer, six teachers  from Scoil Bhríde (Mr. Monaghan, Ms. Burke, Ms. Young, Ms. Mc Elligott, Ms. O’ Sullivan and Ms. Doheny) are travelling to Malawi in Africa, to volunteer in Matandani school. While they are there, they hope to improve the lives of all school-goers to Matandani, by building new facilities and renovating existing ones. The plan of work for this Summer includes installing water taps in each classroom, building toilet blocks for students and teachers, investing in school resources, purchasing classroom benches for some classes, roof insulation and maybe even building some extra classroom blocks, to facilitate the huge numbers that attend the school. It is an extremely worthy cause and this year, the boys and girls of Scoil Bhríde, raised a very impressive €702, through buying tickets for a ‘Sweet Jar’ or a ‘Prize’ raffle, which was held in each individual classroom. We would like to say a huge thank you, to each and every person who helped out and supported the raffle in any way – the money will make a huge difference to the staff and students of Matandani school!
