5th class got a taste of secondary school subjects in the STEM , Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths workshop at Portlaoise College on 28th May. Students experienced Science/Technology/Engineering/Maths in state of the art Laboratories with experienced teachers
We conducted experiments, constructed bridges and created circuits using ordinary everyday items like eggs, straws and sellotape. We tested for protein and glucose, tried to build the strongest bridge possible and wired a working set of gears. Everyone who took part got a certificate and a lollipop. It was brilliant and everyone enjoyed their day in Portlaoise college.
