There is a strong emphasis on Gaelic games in the school. In this area the concepts of fun, co-operation, taking part, self development, control, responsibility and the acceptance of winning and losing are promoted. The school enters boys and girls football teams, hurling teams and camogie teams in Cumann na mBunscol Laoise competitions. Football takes place in the first term, with hurling and camogie during the second and third terms. Pupils travel by bus to the matches. The Parents Council helps defray the costs of buses. On occasion specialist coaches will visit the school to impart their knowledge and expertise to children.
