Dave’s Jungle comes to Scoil Bhride
The whole school was incredibly lucky to receive a visit from Dave and his jungle last week! Dave came to the school for 3 days last week giving each class a wonderful opportunity to see, hold and learn about his reptiles! It was an up close and personal visit and the children absolutely loved every minute of it!
We got to see and feel Frank the black monitor lizard who roamed around the hall while the children were sitting there! Some of the 5th classes were lucky enough to watch Frank hungrily eat his dinner – a white rat!

Dave had a Chilean tarantula with him also who was happy to be sitting in someone’s hand! Some people, understandably, kept well away!

The pythons were only young snakes but were already huge as we can see clearly from the pictures!

Kevin the dwarf crocodile was a big hit with the children and they all got to feel his hard, scaly armour.

We also got to see Iguanas, bearded dragons and scorpions! Dave even showed us how the scorpion ‘glows’ in the dark after being exposed to uva light.

It was a brilliant visit and we all hope to see Dave and his reptiles again in the future!
