Encouraging Dyslexic Children to Read.
Harriet Doig, Information Officer with Dyslexia Association of Ireland, will be holding a talk in Portlaoise Library on Thursday 20th November at 6:30 pm. The The talk will be on the subject:
“Encouraging Dyslexic Children to Read: The Benefits of Reading for Pleasure”
Topics covered will include:
· understanding dyslexia
· the benefits of reading for pleasure
· good fiction for primary school children with dyslexia
· children’s books about dyslexia
· paired reading
· use of technology including screen readers, audio books and e-books.
This talk is suitable for parents and teachers.
