5th class weaving workshop – Ms Dwan
On the 27th of April, 5th Class had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a very interesting weaving workshop in our school. The workshop was led by the lovely Geraldine O’Sullivan, who shared her extensive knowledge and passion for weaving with the children.
Geraldine began the session with a fascinating history lesson, teaching the class all about the origins of weaving and how it has been an important craft throughout history. The children were extremely engaged and enjoyed learning about the traditions and skills involved in weaving.
Following the history lesson, the pupils had the chance to create their own weaving pieces. They thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience and showed great creativity, patience and concentration throughout the activity. It was fantastic to see the children so enthusiastic and proud of their finished work.
A huge thank you to Geraldine O’Sullivan for delivering such an enjoyable, educational and memorable workshop. 5th Class had a fantastic day and learned so much from the experience!
