Junior Achievement Ireland

For the last few weeks, Ms. Martin’s 2nd Class have been participating in the Junior Achievement Programme. The Junior Achievement Programme involves business volunteers coming to schools, to inspire and motivate children to make the most of their education. Our business volunteer was Mairead Slevin and we thoroughly enjoyed her lessons every week. Mairead works with a pharmaceutical company called “Janssen”. We really enjoyed learning about her job.

The theme for each lesson was “Our Community”. During these lessons, the children learned about the many different jobs it takes to make a community work. We also learned a little about the government and the voting system in Ireland. We even elected our own Mayor! We would like to thank Mairead and Junior Achievement Ireland for the wonderful opportunity.
